HOW to ... ALPHA 2 User's Guide


While one of the most intuitif player on the planet, it may not be always obvious how to ... do something.
So here is a quick guide of Alpha 2 features.


First, always remember the following:

1) Positioning the mouse cursor on an area will show a tool tip.

2) Right Clicking often open a context menu or execute a function.

Playing:

Specific file:
- Right Click on the player body, Select "Play file or Playlist".
- Right Click on the player body, Select "Play URL".
- Double Click an associated file type.
- Right Click a media file and select "Open with Alpha 2".
- Drag and Drop a media file onto the player (if "AutoPlay" is set).
- Open History, Select a Playlist, Double Click a media file.
- Open Library, Double Click a media file in "New List".
- Open FindFile, Click a media file if (Right Click option) "Click on Play" is set.

Many files:
- Right Click on the player body, Select "Play file or Playlist", select multiple files.
- Drag and Drop a folder onto the player (if "AutoPlay" is set).
- Open Library, Double Click Albums or Tracks to fill the "New List", Set AutoPlay and Click "Add ...".
- Open FindFile, Set AutoPlay and Click "Add ...".
- Open Smart Playlist Maker, Set AutoPlay and Click "Create Playlist".

Playlist:
- Open History, Select a Playlist, Set AutoPlay and Click "Load selected Playlist".
- Open History, Set AutoPlay and Double Click a Playlist.
- Right Click on the player body, Select "Play file or Playlist", select a playlist.
- Drag and Drop a playlist file onto the player (if "AutoPlay" is set).


Playlist Operations:

View Current Playlist:
- Right Click on the player body, Select "Show Playlist".
- Click the Playlist button.

Add files:
- Right Click on Playlist button, Select "Add File(s) / Playlist(s)".
- Right Click on Playlist button, Select "Add Folder / Drive". *
- Right Click on Playlist button, Select "Add URL".
- Left Click the Add button (+) to add file(s) or playlist(s).
- Right Click the Add button (+) to add a folder or drive. *
- Drag and Drop a media file onto the playlist.
- Drag and Drop a folder onto the playlist.
- Open Library, Double Click Albums or Tracks to fill the "New List" and Click "Add ...".
- Open Smart Playlist Maker, Choose a filter and Click "Create Playlist".
- Open FindFile, type search string and Click "Add ...".
Notes: * = That may take some times !

Add a Playlist:
- Open History, Select a Playlist and Click "Load selected Playlist".
- Open History and Double Click a Playlist.
- Right Click the Playlist button, Select "Add File(s) / Playlist(s)".
- Left Click the Add button (+) and select a playlist(s).
- Drag and Drop a Playlist file onto the playlist.

Save current Playlist:
- Click the "Save" (Diskette) icon.

Clear current Playlist:
- Click the "Clear" (Cross) icon.

Convert a Playlist to another format:
- Clear the current playlist.
- Load the playlist to convert.
- Click the "Save" (Diskette) icon and specify the desired format.
Note: The original Playlist file is not deleted. Due to copyright issues, some playlist formats may require registration.


Meta Tags:

View:
- Right Click a file in the Playlist, Select "File Properties".
- Click on the properties display.

Edit:
- Click on a text box to manually edit it, Click "Update".
- Click on a down arrow to fill a text box with filename.
- Click on "CopyPaste" to copy/paste from other tags.
Note: Due to copyright issues, some tags formats may require registration.
