Why Register ? • Get all the features that cannot be enabled in a FREE version because of licensing fees and stuff like that. • Have your say on ALPHA 2 developement by being a Registered Member. • Get support if you need it by being a Contributor. • Get powerful features at a bargain as it is either FREE or require a very small contribution. • Get them NOW as we do not know what the future holds... Is it Free ? Hum... almost. It can be FREE, require a little contribution like blogging or linking, making a donation or just buying it for a very little amount. ALPHA 2 was not designed as commercial product but a high quality and easy to use personal (for myself only) Audio Player. It just happened to be liked by many, in the end cost a lot, so it is here now in the hope we can all share a bit to make it even better. There are some features that I cannot legally give as free download (like mp3s) and have to pay licensing fees so if you want to use them it is normal you share the cost :) There are some features that are used for business, so making money, so if you want to use them it is normal you share the cost :) More over, developing ALPHA 2 has cost a lot of money ! Developing it further will cost even a lot more ! Giving ALPHA 2 free for download cost a lot of money too, mostly in server bandwith. In order to be able to continue giving ALPHA 2, I use Ads on this site but, as nobody click on it, that does not offset the expense. I thought about making a PRO, and paid, version but found it more convenient to just have one version to download and use an unlocking code to enable professional features. The kind of features that people use to make money :) ... or the kind that I will have to pay licenses for. So registering means also providing some income to ALPHA 2's father by any way I can think of it in the hope enough people will do it to keep ALPHA 2 alive. The more income, the more features will be coming in and the faster ALPHA 3 will will arrive. That also mean that you will get all professional features unlocked as a bonus :) What do I get ? "Ask what you can do for ALPHA 2, then ask what ALPHA 2 can do for you!" (J. kenedi 1969 :) First, you become the true owner of the ALPHA 2 copy that is in your PC. You downloaded it for free because someone else paid for it (that is myself :) So, if you are using it, it is only fair you pay it back, right ? Make yourself proud ! Second, even if you should not expect anything more, you will get the PRO version as a BONUS ! By registering you will get an Code that will unlock all professional features, mostly: - Convert to WMA, FLAC, Speex, WavPack, MP2, MonkeyAudio, Mpeg Plus, OptimFrog, AAC HE - Write Vorbis and APE tags. - Save playlists as m3u and pls. - Copy multiple files at once. - Record radio as session with log file. - Enable direct connection proxy server for NetRadio. - Enable/Disable Community Board. - Record and Convert when minimized. - Internet Host location and IP Locator. - and some more... How do I register ? • Recommended: Open ALPHA 2 Player, Control Panel, Register and click [GET UNLOCK CODE]. • Look for a Quick Reg Corner, enter your Alpha Serial Number and click [GET UNLOCK CODE]. • Choose an option from the Contribute page. You may Blog about ALPHA 2, link to ALPHA 2 web site, bring traffic, bring paying registrant (you'll get a referral commission :), write articles, wikis, donate a bit, donate a lot, donate nothing, click on ads from this site, expose ALPHA 2 on twitter, facebook, friendster, etc... • Contact me, says "Hi, Alpha 2 is great, you must be a genius, can I get a Code for free ?", and your reason for asking if you think you deserve it. You may get one. Some valid reasons are: - You are still a kid (<14) and got no much money. - You are publishing open source code. - You are Michael Jackson, Peter Gabriel, mother Theresa, ect ... - You need it for an orphanage, green peace, stuff like that. - You run an internet cafe. - You got more than 3 cats in your house. Of course you'll have to prove it. I don't mind giving it free but I won't be cheated by indonesian or nigerian beggers :) So NO LIES ! (AS I share the same IQ as Enstein, they won't go through :) What to expect next ? ALPHA 2 is quite complete and they will be no more fundamental additions. Minors modifications or features may be done on users's feedback. What did not made it like movies, pictures, etc... will be in ALPHA 3. ALPHA 3 is not just a new version. It is completely re-engineered with totally new ideas, a few generations ahead of anything else. What I can tell you at the moment is it will be even easier to use, incorporate an artificial intelligence engine that will predict what you may wish to do, play movies, pictures and text with automatic features to play and convert from your mobile devices. ALPHA 3's completion date will depend on the success of ALPHA 2 as unfortunately I got broke making ALPHA 2 and I have now to do find a real job with a real pay so I cannot work full time on ALPHA 3. But it should be out in 2009. Registration methods I will try to make different ways to register, from free to fast. Just come back here some time to check out.
By the way, You need an ALPHA Serial Number to register. If you have not done it yet, Download ALPHA 2 Now.
