HOME STORY HOW TO Audio TIPS LastNEWS

Hi,
My name is Jo, nice to meet you !
I hope your are fine, and will be even better, after using ALPHA 2 which, guess what, I happen to be the author :)

"Author", what a word ! Makes you feel like you are about to get a pullitzer ! And, just like a newly hot writer, I keep being asked how I came up with this thing called ALPHA 2.

Well, I did not "came up" with ALPHA 2 just like that and the answer is not a short one.

So, here it is, an Exclusive story (still classified :) for the ALPHA POST readers only:

Before I reveal any secrets,
First I want to apologize for this ugly web site. Sorry, sorry but I am not a web site designer, I got no artistical skills whatsoever, that's why all graphics, and even pages, are all copy and paste.
(Though I did the top picture using PhotoImpact :) ... (Yes, I know, a 5 years old could do it, Thanks !)

Second, I want to thanks, and I really mean it, all people who made the graphics I copied and also those who write open source software. Without you guys, I would be nobody. ALPHA 2 (and Alpha 1) would never been born and I would still be fighting with over 7 players on my desktop.

Third, if I forgot to mention your work, copyright, etc... the best course of action would NOT be to sue me (I got broke making ALPHA 2) but to send me a mail and I'll see what I can do. (You can also try to buy my code with a 6 figures check, I'll take it :)

PART 1 :: How it all started.

That's hard to say. All started with the Big Bang but, as I did not witness it and trust only my eyes, that would be lying. So let's skip the dinosaur's stuff and why they high pitched sound may have influenced my genetical tree.

What I remember is, as a boy (about yesterday):      I Loved Music !

You see, I loved music so much that, still in my preteens, I worked 6 months to save enough to buy the latest technology : a FM Radio.
Boy, that was something ! These trebles just made me feel like the philarmonic was all around me. The voices were not from a distant planet anymore, they were here, inside the box.

And that certainly influenced my career. I also liked electronic so, instead of becoming a fighter pilot, I would do anything that combine electronics (and later computers, microchips) with audio.
At 15, I started building high-end amplifiers and speakers, and that still goes on ...

Now I know you are not interested in my tender years, so let's skip the school stories, the love stories, the sad stories, the happy stories (may be later) and let's teleport ourselves to :
